My name is Chiblue...Chi for short...I am a 46 yr. old wife, mother of 4 and grandmother of 9 wonderful children. I spent many years of my life as a Director of Nursing in a Nursing Home. I have been diagnosed with bi-polar and chronic depression. And I believe that I am a Highly Sensitive Person as well...I am a survivor of sexual, verbal and physical abuse and have dealt with many addictions in my lifetime. 

My husband, of 17 yrs., is a Disabled Vietnam Veteran who suffers from PTSD, depression and a range of physical disabilities due to his gunshot wounds.  My only daughter, who is 30yrs. old suffers from bi-polar disorder and depression at times.  My oldest son has tried to cope with depression for most of his adult life.  My middle son has bouts of depression and has battled alcoholism.  And I am convinced that my youngest son who is 5yrs. old is a HSP, too.

My name is Aleia. I'm 53, married for 34 years and have 3 grown daughters aged 29, 28 and 23, and 2 grandsons aged 7 and 9.  I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in July 2007 and I'm unable to work because of this disability. This is a complex illness with many different ailments, the main one being widespread chronic pain.  Here is a link that explains this illness in more detail.

I have a wonderful husband and family who help me with the things I can no longer do.  I also have a binge eating problem which I have struggled with for as long as I can remember. I'm in the process of trying to deal with this once and for all.

I've had bouts of depression throughout my life, more often now with having fibromyalgia.  I'm attuned to Reiki 1 and 2 and can send out Reiki healing energy to anyone who would like to receive it.  I use Reiki and Meditation to help cope with the 24/7 pain I have. I try and stay positive and look on the bright side.

I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you better, and I'm so grateful for this wonderful place where I can find solace, understanding and friendship. I feel blessed being here.

Hi everyone,

My name is Moonvoice, you can call me P or moony, or anything you want to really, for short.

I have post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and because this is quite a complex disorder, I also have many other 'disorders' or issues that fall under this umbrella type disorder, including sexual dysfunctions, anxiety, depression, etc. I am currently seeing a therapist about this, and am on full disability pension. I do not like to talk about what caused my PTSD, but I'm sure if you get to know me over time, you'll eventually come to see what did contribute to it / cause it.

I am - in general - very fascinated with psychology, in different ways. I like those who choose to see their 'illness' as a strength; I know people with disorders - some quite severe - who choose to see them as strengths and not as disabilities or illnesses.

I am interested in the portrayal of mental illness in our mainstream media, and particularly interested in positive or realistic portrayals of mental illness. I am also interested in niche, or less well-known mental disorders, including Munchausen's by Proxy, Munchausen's, Somatoform Disorder, Antisocial Personality Disorder and Dissociative Amnesia.

In general, I am 26 years old, female and a metal rooster Sagittarius INTJ with a Virgo rising. I enjoy time with animals very much, and I try to enjoy simpler things in life when I can.

I am intensely spiritual and a shamanist, and I run my own forum which focuses more specifically on animism, shamanism, witchcraft and paganism.

I am happy to listen or help out where I can, and can be PM'ed, but sometimes I might not be able to reply straight away due to the severity of my disorder at this time. Give me a try anyway though, if you want to! I like to listen. And I like to learn.
